Facelift

Healthy, non-smokers who want to reduce the effects of aging such as sagging skin, “parentheses” folds around the mouth/nose area, jowls, and fatty deposits in the neck area are good candidates for face lifts.

Who is it for?

Healthy, non-smokers who want to reduce the effects of aging such as sagging skin, “parentheses” folds around the mouth/nose area, jowls, and fatty deposits in the neck area are good candidates for face lifts. The facelift procedure smooths and tightens the skin, giving the face a rejuvenated appearance. If you scar excessively or have problems with high blood pressure or blot clots, a facelift may not be right for you.

How does it work?

There are several different incision types that Dr. Nguyen can use when performing your facelift procedure, depending on your desired result.

  • A traditional facelift uses an incision in the hairline that starts at the temples, goes around the front of the ear, and ends in the lower part of the scalp. From the incision, Dr. Nguyen can reshape and reposition fat and tissue in the face. The facial skin is then pulled back and the excess is trimmed.
  • A neck lift uses an incision that starts at the front of the ear and ends in the lower scalp area.

What happens after the procedure?

After your facelift, you will likely experience bruising and swelling. During your recovery period, keep your head elevated and wear the bandages Dr. Nguyen gives you to optimize your result and reduce swelling. The recovery period is 2-3 weeks.
